Hello everyone,
I have mentioned a few things about myself as a rper on this website. First, that I've been doing it over ten years and secondly, that I've abandoned most strict notions of what rping is to me. Hello, my name is Cies and I'm a roleplayer.
I enjoy stories. I've always enjoyed stories. In a group setting, I'm the guy that's telling a story. It'll be an amazing story, one gut wrenching, enticing or enraging. When I see an empty journal I imagine the sort of stories that are in them and I am filled with regret that I haven't already written such a story with fellow rpers.
I find writing professionally to be too self isolating for my gregarious personality. I like interaction, I dislike fame and the privacy sacrificed by it. I enjoy personal moments and monumentally shared ones with a community. I also enjoy the lack of pressure, shooting the breeze and moving onto the next project. I'm very friendly, I'll give most anyone a chance just to see what they'll do with it. My perception of rping has evolved and changed so much over the years. The player I was ten years ago is not who I am now. The player five years ago recognizes who I am now but still, isn't the same person.
For me, roleplaying is much more about the story then self expression. This isn't a representation of myself, though I do connect with moments my characters share. I believe that since characters come from us, they are innately us. They are loved, hated, disposable and immortal. Mostly, I just want a story that explores an idea, takes it further and is still a damn enjoyable read. I like to brainstorm, I'll spit out as many ideas as I can and heck, sometimes a few stick, sometimes none of them do, but I just keep putting them out there. Just the act of brainstorming keeps the mind going.
That's why I love roleplaying. I love exploring ideas almost anonymously with a group of people. It can be about self sacrifices, hate, love, adventure, what it means to be complete or get a sense of "closure." There is no set subject matter and it can be as shallow or deep as you want it to go, its boundaries set only by the writer. I want a story to have characters that are different.
I rp two different characters-- Tag and Lyall. Tag is someone who is introverted. When I write as Tag, his posts express his introverted nature by focusing on his surroundings and hints of his thoughts. They tend to describe other people around him if the voice isn't third person omniscient. Tag believes himself to be somewhat insignificant (in a positive sort of way) and I try to have my writing style reflect that with as little self-reference as possible. That being said, Lyall is scatte brained, self-involved and also, somewhat introverted. When I write Lyall, I include many of his inner thoughts and monologues. He becomes less severe than Tag, more comical and lost because.. hehe... that tends to be his story. I believe that how you write and what words you select say as much about your character and the demeanor created than anything else. I try to keep such things in mind when I play. I have characters which aren't of great significance but hey... they're fun to play. I don't have many characters, I can't handle many but I do love having an available variety.
Hello, my name is Cies and I started roleplaying after I wanted into an AOL chat room over a decade ago and wondered what the heck was going on.
Hope to play with you soon.

Suppose I ought to do the same
I'm V and I've been roleplaying on and off since '98 where upon my eyes first were opened to the Internet! I began in Rhy'Din, but only briefly, with an AOL trial, and much like everyone else, stumbled upon the RPG chat rooms and never quite gave it up.
I am most notably known as the player of Madison Rye, who I first started writing as in a now defunct quasi-western setting on Yahoo. I role played her for a while, enough to be hooked by the idea, but a character I decided to return to in time - something which I didn't do for many years. She's now the loveable gunslinger I think most would be familiar with, due to the many encompassing plots I have had running.
I also write, if rarely, as Morvern Deco, a fantastical creature who is from Ray Bradbury's October Country, at least insofar as her basis. My latest adventure has been with the character Emily Day, though not entirely my creation but from the mind of Cies, a thread I took and run with.
I take great pleasure in being apart of what Cies is doing here and want to extend that feeling and opportunity to others. I'm thrilled about the direction the site is taking and the promise of new members and more adventures in literature as can be found in this humble but lovely gathering place.
As always, if you need anything, or have any ideas, send them my way, I'm always willing to help and eager to be engaged by a story.
Happy writing!

Hi ya'll!
I've been rping for over 15 years now, it began in a little known community called Virtual Worlds, moved on to AOL where i stumbled into the Red Dragon Inn. Since then i've stumbled across many new and exciting rp settings, the last being in Second Life where I currently own three sims, own and build for a furniture store with items on sale in the market place. As well as own, write and edit a magazine i put out once a month for the SL Gorean community.
Im an addict of Daz Studios and enjoy creating art via the 3d environment it offers. Im currently working on a set of pictures for the Church storyline and will be working on those for the Widowspoon and eventually all of them as time allows.
I look forward to writing and being part of Cies new project and hope that we can keep it going for many years to come.
I wont list the characters I currently play as I prefer to keep them seperate from the Fable moderator.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, comments or suggestion my "door" is always open!
Happy writing
