Howdy!

I'm Falleh! I happened upon this place through The Land of Dheynor and was a bit surprised by the multi-story set up - I didn't think it existed but what a genius idea! In more recent years trolling RP forums I feel like a lot of effort goes into the profile process when that is one of the last things we really need to focus on. Its the stories! What actually happens and how you get to know the character as things progress.

There's also the fact that most RP set in a forum style is centered around one subject, but what about all those other ideas?? Not everyone likes replaying the same scenarios over and over, i.e. Vampires vs werewolves or apocalypse forever. Or well, at least not me.

So in short - THIS IS AN AWESOME IDEA! I love it!

A little about me..

Well, I've been rping for nearly 10 years now but most of those years were spent in a chat-room style role play. Good Ol' MSN days anyone? It was only when MSN shut down that I found forum based RP and with my life× changing I find it is WAY more convenient for me. I went back to chat RP on Oasiz.net which has a thriving Chat RP community but alas, I do not have the time to sit in rooms waiting for RP and SO ! That brings me here.

More personal to-know, I'm 23 years young and I live on the west coast USA. I'm better at playing the antagonist because ... well.. Someone has to do it and not too long ago it seemed like no one wanted to and stories were going nowhere. Needless to say, I liked it! but lately I've noticed a growing trend among us unique rping individuals - Everyone wants to be the bad boy!

So I'm trying to re-learn playing a more docile character again. Not that I'm terrible at it! I just kind of...Forgot. lol

And now on to the stories!

I look forward to reading up and joining in on the more active The Widows Spoon, looks like you could use some good guys ;3 I'm also looking forward to the upcoming Apocalypse story. Its upcoming, right? I love a good end of the world story, especially when its not over run with uber extreme military personnel! I like the more average folks fighting or dying to survive. AND I am also looking forward to coming up with some ideas of my own - I'm not too bad at creating small group threads with short-term goals and thick plot.

So anyone and everyone - Feel free to PM ME! I'll play

Welcome to the forum, Falleh.

I'm glad you enjoy the concept of the set up. When I was looking for a forum to join I often felt the same way-- that idea is nice, but what about the others? Do we really have to have a website for every single storyline idea?

For me my roots were in the AOL chatrooms, so I have a similar rping background as you and like you rping in a chat room has become quite difficult. I do have a chat room set up here for individuals that wish to use it when they realize they are online at the same time, but this site really caters to people with a schedule and many ideas.

The stories present here come from the players. Anyone that really wants to put in their own folder can. If you don't know if your story will expand enough to be its own folder there is always "Word Has It."

The Apocalypse story is definitely underway. That story is unique because it's Fable's (one of my staff) and she's put so much thought and work into it. She has come up with so many images, races and tensions in the story. If you like playing baddies... there will be quite a few in that SL line (not that I don't want you to give your good guy muscle a work out) and it isn't a military-overthrow type. It's quite creative. We've been working to refine it for readers and interested parties before unveiling it. There will definitely be an announcement when that happens!

A fun place to start a post is in the "Prompted" section, which is meant to be like a fun break from whatever SL you are currently involved in to play off of the "what if" sort of scenarios. You can propose your own prompts, of course, but at times people join and aren't sure where to post first or what to say.

Are you coming in with a new or old character? Nice to see a new face!

Thank you for your gracious welcome! And I must say, I like that prompted section and the word has it - Good idea, I'll take a look around. As for bringing my own original character, I do have an old character I've played since the beginning of my RP time but I don't think she'll fit in anywhere as of yet. I've always been a huge fan of Medieval Fantasy RP but you never know I may find a plot that needs her! Nicole is nothing but trouble ;P

For now I'm just going to create new characters that come to mind and fit the upcoming story I'm joining or creating. I've already sent off a pair of players to Due Machiavelli to be part of the Widow's Spoon. I have yet to really look the place over since I stumbled across it rather early in the morning soooo I'll be lurking around for days to come!

Oh, but I see I may need a random standby character or two in that character section after all for the prompted section. oh-la-la, it just keeps getting better and better!

I hear that! I have about a handful of characters here, most that are from my past (the equivalent of your nicole I believe). Sometimes a characters gets put on the shelf only to come to use at a later time. I'll admit I've had a few character ideas that have flopped and then others that have lasted so many years!

As to Apocolypse Now :grins: its coming soon. Cies and I are putting the finishing touches on a few things before we break live..

so you may just have use for a few of those characters yet!
